Violent crime peaked in 1993 within the United States. Since then, it has trended downward due in great part to the “broken windows” style, proactive police work, video surveillance everywhere, and the increase of concealed carriers. In 2020, the year of the Covid 19 lockdowns, crime spiked again in the wake of the rioting surrounding a particular incident of police action.

Exotic 9mm ammo is creative, to say the least, but is it worth your hard-earned money? Can you trust your life with unconventional or even wacky bullets? Such as incendiary rounds or external hollow points? Yes, but I don't recommend trusting just any exotic 9mm ammo.

A road rage incident in Palm Beach last Thursday illustrates why lawyers tell those who carry a gun for self-defense to control their anger and just learn to let stupid things go rather than let road rage get the best of them. Situations can escalate quickly, often from people misreading the actual events playing out around them, and it can become unclear who is in the right or worse, both parties can lose out big time, either financially, with jail time or even losing their life.

“Hawaii will get a chance to reinstate a ban on butterfly knives after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed Thursday to review a decision that determined the weapons fall under Second Amendment protection,” Courthouse News Service reports. “The court voted to grant Hawaii’s request for an en banc rehearing of a conservative three-judge panel’s ruling in August 2023 that ended the state’s 30-year ban on butterfly knives…”

If a freedom-loving NRA member from, say, 1994, had been able to look into a crystal ball and see 30 years forward to today, they’d no doubt be pleased and perhaps a bit jealous, but also a little perplexed. They’d notice the U.S. Supreme Court decisions in D.C. v. Heller (2008), McDonald v. Chicago (2010) and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen (2022), which together decree that the Second Amendment is not a second-class right. It protects each law-abiding citizen’s right to own and carry firearms for self-defense and for other legal purposes. They’d be pleased to see this.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley argued Monday that Hunter Biden “blew away” the “suggested defense” of his lawyer Abbe Lowell by discussing his sobriety with Axios. Biden suggested to the outlet his sobriety is key to defeating former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election and the “future of democracy.” He is facing three counts for providing false statements and knowingly purchasing a Colt Cobra revolver in October 2018 while under the influence of drugs.

I’m not sure if I was a gun guy or a sci-fi nerd first. I grew up in a shooting household, but my dad also took me to see the original Star Wars when it first came out in 1977. Maybe it was a parallel evolution. Either way, I love guns, and I love sci-fi, so I have a soft spot for sci-fi themed guns. It’s the best of both worlds.

As news broke across the landscape that a six-person Manhattan jury had found against the National Rifle Association in a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, one story in the New Yorker may have best explained why the establishment media has had such disdain for the organization. Former NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre was ordered to repay more than $4.3 million back to the association, noted CNN.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms. — Tench Coxe in `Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution' under the Pseudonym "A Pennsylvanian" in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 at 2 col. 1.
