TCU Clinches NCAA Rifle Title

The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs rifle team posted an aggregate score of 4732-347X at the 2024 NCAA rifle championships on Saturday, claiming the NCAA rifle team title for the first time in five years.

The competition was held at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia, from Friday, March 8, to Saturday, March 9, with smallbore on day one and air rifle on day two.

Led by Head Coach Karen Monez, the victory marks TCU's fourth NCAA rifle title, after previously winning the championship in 2010, 2012 and 2019.

A 19-year-old Ypsilanti teen who was shot accidentally by a friend in 2021 is suing one of the nation's leading ghost gun kit sellers for allegedly supplying an underage buyer with the kit used to assemble a firearm.

The suit brought on behalf of Guy Boyd is being filed against online firearms dealer JSD Supply by several groups, including the legal arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, the University of Michigan Law School's civil-criminal litigation clinic and a New York-based law firm, Bloch & White. The suit was filed Monday night in Washtenaw County Circuit Court.

Lawmakers are tackling nine bills this week and next that deal with firearms — from licensing to liability insurance to where those guns can and can't be carried.

The action began Monday in the House, where Democrats approved House Bill 1174, which adds training requirements for those who want to obtain concealed carry permits. The 43-16 vote on the bill occurred strictly along party lines.

Kyle Rittenhouse posted a video to X in which he blasted ATF “firearm expert” Chris Bort for failing to fieldstrip a Glock handgun during a recent Face the Nation appearance.

Rittenhouse fieldstripped a Glock handgun as he spoke into the camera and, once he had the slide separated from the frame, called on Congress to “abolish the ATF.”

A San Jose man is accused of using 3D printers to manufacture illegal guns, and police allege he was found with machine gun conversion devices. Investigators identified the suspect Tuesday as Benito Hernandez, 25, of San Jose.
