PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - A would-be robber was
shot and killed by a customer carrying a concealed handgun Saturday during a
hold-up at a Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control store.
Police said Neshawn N. Claiborne, 18, from
Suffolk, entered the store about 6 p.m., showed his weapon and said he wanted to
commit a robbery. A customer who has a valid concealed-weapon permit then pulled
out his own gun and shot the robber.
Police are withholding the name of the man who
shot Claiborne.
