Stepfather killed after domestic dispute

Banks County, Georgia -- Authorities say a
36-year-old man is dead after a late-night domestic dispute at a home in Banks
County, about 70 miles northeast of Atlanta. Police say Luther Wes Turpin of
Commerce was attempting to break in to his ex-wife's house when his 16-year-old
stepson shot him.
Turpin was pronounced dead at
Banks-Jackson-Commerce Medical Center. The investigation is continuing. Police
say they do not expect to file charges against the teenager.
Neal Bortz, Atlanta radio announcer,
reported that the father had a history of beating his estranged wife.
