Subject: Despicable Act... by Kmart
To Whom It May Concern:
As an American and Patriot, I am as sickened
as everyone in America by the horrible 'acts of evil' and terror that has befallen
our great nation. However, as an American consumer and gun-owner, I was also
sickened by the anti-American sentiment that your company displayed by pulling
guns and ammunition from your store shelves in retaliation of a despicable act
that had nothing to do with guns what-so-ever. The only statement that your
company has made to Americans is that you do not care about citizen's ability
to protect themselves from terror like what we had yesterday. You have shown
your disdain for our God-given, Constitutionally-recognized right to 'keep and
bear arms.' I am truly surprised that you did not pull the American flag from
your shelves, also. You might as well have done so, because without our right
to bear arms, our founding fathers would never have been able to defeat the
British two-hundred and twenty-five years ago. If people such as yourself had
their way then, we would have had no weapons to defend ourselves and form our
great nation. I pose a question to you: Would you have done the same if a military
force invaded our soil on the ground? Would you pull your weapons off of your
shelves so that Americans could not do anything 'stupid' like defending our
lives, families, and country?
You have shown your contempt for gun-owners and
American values themselves by slapping us all in the face with continuing to
have Rosie O'Donnell as a spokesperson for your company, and by pulling handgun
ammunition from your stores months ago. But this latest step, even though temporary,
was the last straw. Rosie herself has stated that 'anyone who owns a gun should
go to jail,' but I say to you that anyone who would interfere with law-abiding
American's rights to protect themselves should be tried for treason and given
the maximum penalty allowed by law for that act...
