BREAKING NEWS:
WorldNetDaily's columnist and talk show host Geoff Metcalf has invited
Petition co-author David Codrea to be a guest on his program on Friday, Oct. 26,
to discuss the project. Geoff's show can be listened to via his website: http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/.
Go there and click on the "Listen Live!" microphone icon. If you're a
new listener, we encourage you to visit Geoff's site before the show to make
sure you can receive the program-- he does have a link to download the free
software needed.
The show can also be listened to live on AM stations KPKZ 1380-Sacramento and
KSRK 540-Monterey. It will be rebroadcast on Sunday, Oct. 28 starting at 2:00 PM
on KSFO 560-San Francisco and will also be available in Geoff's online archives.
The Friday program airs from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Pacific Time, so if you live in a
different time zone, plan to listen accordingly. David will probably be on some
time after 5:00, but we think you will enjoy and learn from the entire program
and encourage you to hear it all. Geoff's previous guests have included such
notables as House Impeachment Counsel David Schippers, Larry Klayman of Judicial
Watch, rocker Ted Nugent, and many others (including Petition Co-Founder, Angel
Shamaya), so this is indeed an exciting honor and opportunity to promote our
effort to a national, even a world-wide audience thanks to the reach of the
Internet.
THANK YOU, JPFO.
We would like to thank Jews for the
Preservation of Firearms Ownership for its information alert informing
members of the Petition project. We encourage all of our supporters to become
members of this fine organization that has done (and continues to do) such
innovative and powerful educational actions for the Second Amendment and the
entire Bill of Rights. See the JPFO post here: http://www.jpfo.org/alert20011023.htm.
THANK YOU, GUNS & AMMO.
Guns and Ammo magazine informs us they will run a feature on the Petition in
their January issue, generally on the shelves in early December, just in time to
provide an afterburner kick-in for this effort considering they have an
advertised readership of 5.8 million.
Speaking of G&A, the December issue is out, and Petition co-authors Brian
Puckett and David Codrea each have articles
appearing. Brian's "Four .50s to Fool With" range-tests a new
generation of affordable .50 BMG rifles. David's "Six Degrees of
Hypocrisy" exposes the foolishness and danger promoted by Hollywood's
protected, anti-defense elite. If you're not a regular subscriber, we encourage
you to pick up a copy from a store or newsstand near you, or go here to
subscribe: http://www.gunsandammomag.com/dynamic.asp.
ARE YOU WITH US?
For those of you who are still not aware of "A Petition for Enforcement
of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States," we urge
you to immediately go here and get on board: http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/Petition/.
If you have seen the Petition but still not signed it, why not? You have
nothing to lose and much potentially to gain. The minimal information we ask for
(name, city/state, date and optional email address if you wish to receive
project updates) will never be shared with others -- we are not building a
"list" and we will never "spam" you with unrelated
solicitations -- plus, we will never ask you for a dime.
If you have already signed the Petition, we ask you to recruit others to do
so as well. In addition to individuals, we encourage you to contact gun rights
organizations/clubs/websites, gun-related businesses, etc., and convey your
expectation that they join us in supporting this important effort. Let those
sitting on the sidelines know that you have noticed their silence and will base
your support to them accordingly.
SUCCESS, AND GROWING
Petition coordinator David Codrea reports that thousands of Americans from
all across the country have sent in signatures since this project was launched a
few weeks ago, and his mailbox is crammed with more each day. This has clearly
struck a chord with people who realize that legal and political options outside
of federal enforcement have been slammed shut for many Americans, and that if
they get arrested for an unconstitutional anti-defense edict, many states will
not recognize a Second Amendment defense. David is literally spending several
hours each day on this, and challenges you to swamp him with signatures to the
point where he needs to beg someone to help him sort the mail.
He also apologizes to those of you who have provided their email addresses
but must read the update here -- the numerous time-consuming priorities to
manage this project have prevented him from entering most of the addresses
received to date, and he is trying to get this resolved before too long.
THANK YOU, WORLDNETDAILY.

story on the Petition: http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=24793.
ONE MAN ARMY
Lee McGee is a Louisiana activist from deep in Cajun country who has
single-handedly managed to collect over 1,000 signatures in the past few weeks.
If you want to know how he did it, follow this link and follow his lead: http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/newsarchives/XcNewsPlus.asp?cmd=view&articleid=2067.
Many thanks, Lee! You're a one-man army -- if we had a thousand like you, we
would change the world.
FINAL NOTE
Just because the Petition focuses on injustices in California does not mean
that it will not have an impact on your state-- as we have said on numerous
occasions, we chose California because we could clearly prove the case that all
doors to political and legal redress have been slammed shut and barred by the
executive, legislative and judicial branches of state government, and by the 9th
Circuit federal court of appeals--- which now stands directly opposite the
recent 5th Circuit Emerson ruling. Clearly, this must be resolved. If
successful, precedent will be established for further DoJ enforcement wherever
infringements occur.
Americans deserve an immediate answer to this basic question: Does the
federal government intend to uphold this crucial element of its social contract
with We the People or not? No more ducking the issue-- if the AG means what he
says, and truly believes in the Second Amendment, as he and prominent gun
organizations say he does, he will immediately and vigorously enforce the
supreme law of the land-- after all, he swore an oath to do just that. No amount
of spin will mask excuses for refusing to do so. It's time to end all pretenses,
and get the simple "yes" or "no" we are all entitled to, so
that we can see for ourselves if his bold words are backed up with equivalent
resolve.
