Gun Violence
Memorial - Wanna Help?
Oregon legislator Earl Blumenauer has taken on
a project called A Memorial to Gun Victims. (See http://www.house.gov/blumenauer/gun.html)
He is putting together a memorial to the victims of the criminal misusers of
firearms. While this in itself is understandable insofar as it shows
support for the families suffering these losses, Blumenauer is using the
"memorial" to bleat about gun control.
Should you choose to reach out and touch this
legislator, you might want to send him a real example of a self-defense case
from his own home state which happened this month. Click
here to read it or go to http://www.keepandbeararms.com/information/XcIBViewItem.asp?ID=1140.

Here is a letter prepared by Oregon Firearms
Federation, http://www.oregonfirearms.org:
Dear Congressman Blumenauer,
Your request in the "Northwest Labor Press" for stories about
"gun tragedies" strikes us as grotesquely self indulgent.
If you would spend less time harvesting emotional tales and more time
discovering the facts about gun ownership you would learn that guns save lives.
Sadly, it has become increasingly apparent that you are more interested in
histrionics than the facts.
As long as you insist on attacking my right to protect myself and my family I
will consider you an enemy of freedom.
Very truly yours,
