CUMBERLAND, NORTH CAROLINA -- A pizza
restaurant manager wounded one of two masked men who tried to rob his business,
the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said Monday night.
The robbers demanded money from the manager of
Spinners Pizza at 2425 Hope Mills Road at 8:17 p.m., said sheriff’s
spokeswoman Stephanie Hardy.
One was holding something that looked like a
handgun but later turned out to be a B-B gun, she said.
The manager fired at the pair with his gun,
shooting one of them.
The man was undergoing surgery at Cape Fear
Valley Medical Center at about 10:15 p.m. His condition was not immediately
available.
The other robber fled, Hardy said.
No identities were available for the manager or
the man in surgery, Hardy said.
