HOUSTON, TEXAS (Houston Chronicle) -- The shooting death of a man outside a southwest
Houston apartment will be referred to a Harris County grand jury without
charges, officials said Friday.
Carlos Carroll, 25, was killed at 8:40 p.m.
Thursday in the 9500 block of Deering.
Witnesses said Carroll was shot in the neck
after using a knife to threaten a man during an argument.
KeepAndBearArms.com Note: Considering the
fact that the Houston Chronicle usually runs shooting death stories where the
bad guy wins on or near their front pages, and considering the fact that the
community at large would benefit from widespread knowledge that a Good Guy Wins,
we find it unfortunate that this story was buried in their news and only the
barest of facts presented. On the day where this story was reported, the paper's
front page devoted time to Oscar awards, air pollution, racist affirmative
action, the Green party, the most recent school shooting in California, etc.
etc., but buried this story in the back 40. Why doesn't the Chronicle prioritize
self-defense shootings while glorifying maniacal rampages?
