DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA -- A group of friends who started out at an amusement park on Monday night, decided to rob people afterward. Before the night ended, two of them were dead, and their friends are charged in the killings, Broward Sheriff's officials said.

Gregory Calixte, 19, of Pembroke Park, his brother, Willems Calixte, 20, Charles Johnson, 17, of Miramar, and a 20-year-old man from Miami, went to Boomers in Dania Beach late Monday.

Around midnight, they left the amusement park and decided to rob people, said BSO spokesman Jim Leljedal. As the group rode together in the same car, they headed to Southwest Seventh Avenue, where they saw two men standing in the road.

The Miami man, wearing a face mask and carrying a gun, got out of the car and approached the ment in the street. One of the men raised his hands in the air while the other pulled out a gun, fired, and killed the masked man and Gregory Calixte, Leljedal said.

The shooter and his companion fled, while Willems Calixte and Johnson slid Gregory Calixte out of the driver's seat of the car, and drove to Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, where he was pronounced dead. The masked man was left lying in the street, Leljedal said.

The masked victim has not been identified until his family members are notified.

Willems Calixte and Johnson are charged with murder because their criminal actions led to their companions' deaths. Detectives are still looking for the would-be robbery victims to get their side of the story.
