Grandview, Missouri -- A suspected carjacker was shot and critically injured late Thursday night while allegedly trying to take a man's vehicle.
Grandview police say that a 55-year-old man pulled off Highway 71 just before midnight Thursday because he believed that he was being followed.
He pulled his car into the parking lot of a fire station on High Grove Road and began honking his car horn.
Police say that's when a young man approached the car carrying a handgun. The man, a security guard who is licensed to carry a gun, shot the suspected carjacker in the head, killing him.
The man is in custody while police investigate the incident.
