BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Sullivan County authorities have arrested a man following an early morning burglary.

Detectives say 26-year old Michael Sullivan was attempting to take items from a home in Blountville when the owner was awakened.

43-year old David Russell told investigators he shot the suspect when he mentioned a gun and made a quick movement.

No one else in the home, including Russell's wife and three-small children, were hurt. Sullivan is still hospitalized.

He's charged with aggravated burglary and theft under 500-dollars. No charges have been filed against Russell.
