OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- A man who was shot after allegedly breaking into a south Oklahoma City home apparently was searching for his girlfriend, who was hiding from him, police said today.
Timothy A. Alspaugh, 23, was shot last night at 7528 Embassy Terrace, Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Cris Cunningham said. The man apparently had gone to that residence looking for his girlfriend, with whom he had fought the previous day, Cunningham said.
The woman sought treatment at a hospital after that fight, then went to the residence of a friend "in an effort to hide from him," Cunningham said.
"He shows up at this residence and tries to kick in the door," Cunningham said. After he broke through the door, the resident shot the intruder in the chest, investigators were told.
The man was taken to Southwest Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition this morning.
