Guns & Booze Editorial:

Again, we see the trials and tribulations of the anti gunners after the September 11 tragedy. Poor little things, their issues are now nonstarters for the most part.

Virginia Citizens who have concealed carry permits pass a rigorous background check before the "Right" is granted. These people are law abiding citizens of the community and fully comprehend the responsibilities involved.

Since Virginia is also an open carry state, any restaurateur who is uncomfortable with this right may ask the citizen to leave his discretely exposed weapon outside, hopefully, securely stored in his or her car. Economic suicide is usually the fate for establishments who post no gun stickers on their front doors, especially those in Republican "Fly Over Country".

I wonder how many World War II and Korea touring veterans are carrying protection when they get out of their elaborate motor homes to dine say, in a Williamsburg tourist trap along the strip.

Even Senator Depend's (Patrick Leayhy's) state, Vermont respects their citizens to carry concealed without a permit. I'll bet there are a lot of shoot-out in bars out there. Right?

Just what part of the pop culture your friends in the media created scares you? We now have "Flower Children" who are, dare I say, parents?

The social engineering mantra reads like this:

"We trust you to tie your shoe laces."
"For everything else, there's GOVERNMENT."
