"That’s why 'compromise' is so insidious – besides where’s the compromise if I take what’s yours and give you no concession except not trying to take everything –for now. If you think about it, that makes as much sense as throwing a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of jackals and believing that will satisfy them, and they’ll go off and leave you alone. If anyone wants to try that theory out, the Metro Richmond Zoo is down the road, and I’m sure they have a predator or two that would welcome you in its enclosure."

Rep. Rick Saccone (39th District PA House) slams Philadelphia Target banning legislators as out of touch and ridiculous. Rep. Saccone says government has no authority or right to interfere in a citizen's life this way.
This is an example of why Philadelphia is the crime capital of Pennsylvania because the legislators from this region refuse to face the real and tangible problems their mindset has created.

Speaking to attendees at the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s SHOT Show on January 20, comedian Bill Engvall referenced making a mistake and going along with gun control pushes during an appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher in 2011. In a tone of utter seriousness that was a complete departure from his well-known comedic persona, Engvall said he was wrong and that he realizes he should have stood up for more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, not more gun control.

Making ammunition is an expensive and difficult process, and now a bill before the Montana Senate seeks to bring ammo manufacturing to Montana.

When Senator Matt Rosendale (R) of Glendive ran for Congress last year, he made gun rights a key part of his platform. Wednesday, he sponsored a bill that would provide tax breaks for potential makers of ammunition.

Rosendale called it a jobs bill and a Second Amendment issue.

It must come as a surprise to Shannon Watts who runs Michael Bloomberg’s “Moms Demand Action” but gun owners really do have the law on their side. We have, however, become targets through social media bullying tactics. Ms. Watts should get used to legal gun owners prevailing, after all we have the Second Amendment on our side.

As in the case of Clarence Daniels, a 62 year old man with a Florida Concealed Carry Permit who was attacked and put into a “choke hold” by 43 year old Michael Foster while walking into a Florida Wal-Mart. Foster, who never called 911 to report a suspicious person with a gun prior to attacking Daniels, was charged with battery.

The latest Hill opinion stated, "a defendant engaged in an unlawful activity is not necessarily disqualified from seeking self-defense immunity under certain provisions of the 'Stand Your Ground' law."

Specifically, Hill could look to avoid prosecution under a section of the law stating an individual doesn't have to retreat and can legally use deadly force if the person reasonably believes doing so is necessary "to prevent imminent death."

On Nieman Road in Shawnee, Kansas (a Kansas City suburb), in a small strip-mall about a block from Shawnee City Hall, and situated between a bilingual storefront church and an investment brokerage. stands a gunshop called “She’s a Pistol”.

If the name seems unusual for a gun store, it’s because “She’s a Pistol” was started by Becky Bieker and her husband, Jon, with a mission to teach women how to protect and defend themselves and their families, and to provide them with the means to do so. The store conducts self-defense classes for women and carries a wide variety of non-lethal defensive weapons in addition to firearms; it caters to women but welcomes men as well.

"We cannot confirm that it did not come from there, nor can we confirm that it did,” said Chief Deputy Creed Hashe.

Hashe said investigators spent about two hours on the range after the report.

“It's about an 8-acre site and we were hearing anywhere from 10-12 gunshots in the area that we know for a fact were not coming from the gun range because we were actually on the scene there,” said Hashe.

Hashe said a nearby hunter could very well have been behind the bullet.

A New York lawman is winning plaudits from gun owners over his stance on firearm regulation—he wants less of it. Fulton County Sheriff Thomas J. Lorey is already known as a supporter of the Second Amendment and a member of the Oath Keepers, an organization of military personnel and police officers who vow to refuse unconstitutional orders. Despite the Empire State's fame as a jurisdiction unfriendly to private gun ownership—or, really, any activity beyind the reach of government officials—Lorey isn't alone in his views.

My essential emergency survival weapons

Given a major natural disaster, terrorist attack, or even a cataclysmic financial implosion, what are the few things you would stake your life on in a grab-and-go bag? When it comes to emergency survival, be it wilderness or urban, I believe you can only efficiently carry a certain number of things, so it’s important to choose only the bare essentials. And those include weapons.

Personally, the first things I want to secure in a survival scenario are items to address my most immediate threats, namely the environment itself. I want a sleeping bag and a tarp to ward off hypothermia, a water purifier (not tablets) and a water bladder to keep me safely hydrated on the move. As far as tools go, a blade is paramount.

Virginians from across the state converged on the Capitol on Monday to voice differing opinions about the commonwealth’s gun laws.

Two rallies took place at Capitol Square – one in support of Second Amendment rights, the other to protest gun violence. At each rally, demonstrators said the state has failed to deliver appropriate gun laws, and they called for action – in different directions – by this year’s General Assembly.

If you want to shoot a handgun, rifle, shotgun or cannon across a public street within 500 feet of a church, nursing home or day care center in Harnett County, your days are numbered.

If, however, you prefer to shoot from a motor vehicle in the dark, it appears you're still good to go.

Harnett County's latest attempt at a comprehensive firearms discharge ordinance passed by a majority vote of the Board of Commissioners on Monday night. Three previous versions had been sent back to county planners for further fine-tuning.

A Pennsylvania representative is angering gun supporters with his bill to ban human silhouette targets at shooting ranges across the state.

According to WHTM, Rep. Thaddeus Kirkland argues the person-shaped targets encourage violence.

“All we are trying to do here is making sure that folks realize that life is precious...And to place up on a wall a silhouette of a human being...it is a really bad practice,” Kirkland told WHTM. “Why not use a deer, why not use an animal that folks are hunting and not a human silhouette?”

A group of Arizona Democrats have sponsored a bill that would ban the sale or transfer of a firearm unless the buyer or seller is a licensed dealer.

The proposed legislation would allow a licensed firearms dealer to facilitate the sale of a gun between two private citizens if the dealer conducts a background check on both the buyer and the seller.

"I am a firm believer that law-abiding citizens should be able to own the weapons that they choose," Arizona Rep. Randall Friese said. "What I am trying to do is put another check in the system to be sure that the person who is getting the weapon isn't going to misuse it."

While Barack Obama was delivering a stump speech on the State of the Union last night, the head of the National Shooting Sports Foundation was telling an audience in Las Vegas that gun control proponents are flying a “false flag” of gun safety in an effort to push their agenda.

But NSSF President Steve Sanetti suggested in a speech to a receptive audience that data from the FBI, combined with firearms sales data, is a strong indication that the gun control bandwagon has a broken wheel. Since 1994, he said, firearms sales are up 104 percent.

The move comes following Pennsylvania’s Act 192 of 2014, signed into law in November by then-Gov. Tom Corbett.

The law allows residents or organizations to sue municipalities that have rules outside state laws for guns. That leaves the towns open to having to pay legal fees and monetary damages in the court cases.

There’s an adage that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. As the old dog in this story, I have to admit to certain traditional features I still prefer when it comes to smaller-caliber, concealed-carry handguns. I grew up in an era when the top guns in that category were the Colt Detective Special, the S&W Chief’s Special and, in semi-automatics, the Walther PPK. Only the Walther models remain much the same as in my youth, with the Colt relegated to collector status and the S&W Model 36 regarded as a “classic” version of the old .38 Special revolver.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
I have not one doubt, even if I am in agreement with the National Rifle Association, that that kind of record keeping procedure [gun registration] is the first step to eventual confiscation under one administration or another. —CHARLES MORGAN, DIRECTOR, WASHINGTON DC ACLU
