There’s a reason NASCAR Hall of Famer and team owner Richard Childress praised the Second Amendment in a Tuesday interview. Three men attempted to break into Childress’ Davidson County home on December 17th, and at the time (about 10:30 p.m.), he was upstairs with his wife. When he heard glass breaking, he grabbed his gun and went downstairs, firing shots at the intruders while he did.

South Carolina senators will talk about a bill that would loosen the requirements for carrying a gun. That bill did not move last year, but it may this year. It was first introduced to the Senate last February and would allow South Carolinians to carry a firearm without a permit. Right now, if you wanted to legally carry a gun, you would have to sit for about an eight-hour class and go through hands-on exercises. But if the bill, which permits “constitutional carry” moves forward, you could basically walk out of a gun shop without any training.

On Jan. 30, 1968, forces of the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese People’s Army launched a series of attacks throughout South Vietnam. The well-coordinated offensive coincided with the Tết holiday, the Vietnamese celebration of the New Year. Fifty years later, we remember the Vietnam battles of early 1968 as the “Tet Offensive,” an event that many have described as a turning point in America’s involvement in Vietnam.

The battles for these United States are all around us. The Republicans are losing because they have not begun to fight. When Democrats are elected, then the media and bureaucrats tell us we should follow the decisions of our elected leaders. When Republicans are elected, then the media and bureaucrats say that the office holders are illegitimate.

Democrats are out for power while the Republicans are hoping for approval.

It is time to fight back.

While political drama is playing out over the possible release of the controversial “FISA memo” that many conservatives suspect may reveal government surveillance abuses, President Donald Trump may be laying the foundation for his “greatest legacy” – reshaping the federal courts – according to CBN News.

It has been accomplished largely below the radar while the press focus has been on more sensational subjects, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan’s declaration Tuesday morning that releasing the FISA memo could help “cleanse” the FBI because disclosure of the suspected surveillance abuses is “the best disinfectant,” according to Fox News.

Iowa state representatives are debating House Joint Resolution 13, which would add the right to keep and bear arms to the state constitution. Should the resolution’s wording be adopted as is, it would require “strict scrutiny” as the judicial standard for any restrictions on the firearms freedom of Iowans. Louisiana, Missouri and Alabama are the three states that already apply the strict scrutiny standard for gun restrictions.

For 2018, Samson Manufacturing is making the popular Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield easier to shoot than ever, thanks to its all-new Pocket Comp design. Newton's Third Law, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction," is inescapable, and the less mass there is in a 9 mm carry pistol, the more shooters will feel the energy from that shot. Fortunately, the firearm industry develops ways to mitigate that felt recoil in compact-sized carry guns, and the Samson Manufacturing Pocket Comp is the latest innovation designed to manage the snappy Shield handgun.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
There is no doubt in my mind that millions of lives could have been saved if the people had not been "brainwashed" about gun ownership and they had been well armed. Hitler's thugs and goons were not very brave when confronted by a gun. Gun haters always want to forget the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, which is a perfect example of how a ragtag, half starved group of Jews took up 10 handguns and made asses out of the Nazi's. — Theodore Haas, former prisoner of the infamous Dachau prisoner concentration camp
