"The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms on Wednesday joined forces with King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg to hammer down on armed juvenile thugs, throwing its weight behind a proposal to toughen juvenile court standards."

"The Bellevue-based group was approached by Satterberg more than two months ago and quickly decided to support his effort because, in the words of CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, 'His proposed changes in the law will have no bearing on the rights of legally-armed adults including more than 384,000 citizens who are now licensed to carry concealed in Washington, or the growing number of citizens who openly carry.'" ...

... "That this particular panel would arrive at the conclusion they did should hardly surprise anyone who understands who they are and that expecting fair and unbiased judicial review from establishment-approved jurists with an agenda is a myth perpetuated to give such courts the appearance of authoritative legitimacy. In fact, all three of these characters have pasts and documented sympathies that would have made any other ruling improbable, to put it kindly." ...

"Until you’re accused of a crime, you may be blissfully ignorant of the fact that 'innocent until proven guilty' is a myth. In reality, it’s the opposite. Michelle Gesse, whose husband lived the nightmare of being falsely accused of a firearms related felony, explains what all Americans need to know now about the criminal justice system." ...

"Steven and Michelle Gesse thought that the small dinner party they hosted ... would be just that: an informal, pleasant gathering of neighbors over good food and good wine."

"Instead, it turned out to be the beginning of a nightmarish spiral into a confusing and frightening justice system that in practice, if not in theory, considers you to be guilty until proven innocent." ...

"Last year, Burris was kind enough to send me one of their Speedbead sights to test out on a demo Remington 1100. I liked it, and I thought it was a cool little doodad to have on a gun. Unfortunately, I didn’t own the 1100 that was the test bed, and Burris didn’t make a mount for my Yildiz. In fact, reader Totenglocke summed it up best; 'It just sucks because this is something I would buy, but if you have a limited range of what shotguns you can mount it to, that definitely decreases it’s usefulness.' The folks at RedRing apparently agree . . ." ...

"Gun buybacks are a particularly stupid idea. They have no appreciable (i.e., quantifiable) impact on crime. They waste tens of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money. The 'no questions asked' aspect eliminates the possibility of justice for victims of serious crimes, They create a market for stolen firearms. Nuff’ said? No matter what you say about gun buybacks logically, gun control advocates love them! See? We’re doing something about gun violence. And accidents! Aside from internet kvetchers, the media’s right there with them ... Here’s an example of some pro-buyback propaganda from eagletribune.com‘s Mike LaBella, reporting from deep in the heart of high cap mag ban land (Haverhill, Massachusetts) . . ." ...

"Despite the fact that President Obama did not even brush up against gun control and lobbying for tighter regulations, and despite the fact that gun control was about as visible as climate change (we like to willingly kill ourselves and hate paying for things that actually help us), gun sales are soaring as the gun nuts aren’t to let President Obama take away their guns and force them to read. Hilarious because people are ignorantly buying into the hype that Obama will soon be 'coming for your guns,' as the [NRA] is smartly warning its legions of gun-toting supporters. The parking lots that surround the multiplex are empty ... and the only person at the theater when I visited a few weeks ago was an enervated Aurora police officer assigned to guard the site."

"When a white software developer allegedly shot and killed an unarmed black teenager at a Jacksonville, Fla., gas station last weekend (for the crime of playing his music too loudly), it was the latest death in a relentless stream of gun violence in recent months, from the Aurora theater massacre to the gang violence that has plagued Chicago."

"The shooting instantly drew comparisons to Trayvon Martin’s murder last February and re-ignited debate about Florida’s controversial Stand Your Ground self-defense law. Just a few hours after re-election was assured, the president’s representative cast a vote for the Arms Trade Treaty at a U.N. committee meeting. "Late fall is a great time to be a hunter in Kansas. From wild turkey and deer, to duck and pheasant, the union of several hunting seasons offers Kansans the opportunity to pursue a variety of birds and game. Thanks to our Founding Fathers’ inclusion of Second Amendment freedoms in the Bill of Rights, hunting has been an American tradition for more than two hundred years – and a source of food and enjoyment for sportsmen across the country."

"But the benefits of our hunting seasons extend beyond gun owners. Hunting plays an important role in the Kansas economy as our state has become a favorite travel destination for out-of-state hunters. ..." ...

"The 20th of July this last summer marked a dark day for Americans everywhere."

"The day of the shooting in Aurora, Colo., during the premiere of the 'Dark Knight Rises' shocked and terrified the nation. If even one person at the theater had been carrying a gun, dozens of lives would have been saved."

"The day has come where the most basic of tasks must be accompanied with a metal detector and security guard. The world is becoming a darker place, and further controlling the distribution of guns to the point of removing guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens will only decrease the sense of security we hope to achieve in a free nation." ...

"This rant begins earlier this month at the University of Colorado, where a staff member with a permit to carry a concealed weapon at Anschutz Medical School of Dental Medicine, accidentally shot a co-worker while showing off her gun. ... The end result was a ban, in August, on all firearms in the campus’ dorms. However, not looking to trample on the rights of any student with a concealed carry permit ... the university designated a special dorm for those over 21 who wish to keep their firearm with them. Three months after that decision, the University of Colorado has had no one opt to live in these firearm friendly dorms. To that I say – good." ...

"Should children be allowed to handle guns?"

"In Rensselaer County, two probation officers say yes — although it is unclear if the practice is legal."

"Court papers obtained by the Times Union show that two of the county's probation officers said under oath that they allowed their young children to handle their unloaded service weapons as a way to satisfy the children's curiosity about guns." ...

"'Venezuela’s militarized police—' Those are the first three words of Venezuela seizes contraband ammo in shipment from U.S. [via latino.fox.com]. What, you may ask, is a militarized police? I’m thinking it’s a police force that’s unaccountable to the public it pretends to serve. That answers only to the dictatorship that has the Venezuelan people in its stranglehold, thanks to Yankee petro dollars and the complete removal of the people’s right to keep and bear arms. OK, so, those clever cops found some ammo. Since February, Chavez’s goons passed laws that rendered non-governmental guns and ammo strictly verboten in the Bolivarian Republic. Guess where the bullets came from . . ." ...
