"Have you ever remembered details about someone later in life that didn’t mean anything to you at the time? The first gun owner I knew was my grandmother. I have mentioned her a few times on my podcasts. I smile every time I hear of a woman joining the firearms community. It doesn’t matter if it is for competition, to hunt, for self-defense or to relieve stress. My grandmother’s shotgun saved my life." ...

"That’s right, the Brady Campaign is cheering the recent 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upholding the dismissal of NRA et al. v. ATF et al., their lawsuit challenging the federal prohibition of 18-20 year-olds from buying handguns from FFLs. And the Bradys have so few wins these days they’re going all out to trumpet their big 'success.' So what’s the big deal?. . ."

"It’s this: current federal law doesn’t prohibit under 21s from owning handguns; they just can’t buy them through an FFL. And given the Bradys’ stance on background checks (hint: they like ‘em), you might think they’d support the NRA’s suit to ensure that 18-20 year-olds can buy guns through FFLs…and have to go through a 'Brady check'." ...

... "We know what the old assault weapons ban looked like, but what would a new, federal assault weapons ban include? No doubt it would ban AR-15s and AK-47s. If we look at what the gun control lobby has pushed recently, high-capacity magazines, incredibly high taxes on firearms and ammunition, limits to the number of firearms you can purchase in a month, microstamping, closing of private transactions and gun show sales, and a cease to mail-order ammunition sales."

Julie is a world-class athlete with some 120 championship titles in seven different action shooting disciplines, as well as an author, veteran, social media consultant and hunter. She also happens to be one of the most gracious and kindest people I’ve come across in the gun world. "If getting there is half the fun, getting to and from the range usually isn’t. There’s just so much gear, guns and ammo to carry, it can get pretty unwieldy. I usually use a pistol bag that holds a couple of guns and an Army surplus ammo can, plus my ears, eyes and everything else. It’s been a decent setup for the most part, but at times it can be hard getting all of it to my cramped little lane at the indoor range ... And it only gets worse when my wife goes too for a little he and she shooty fun. I’ve looked at lots of conventional range bags and most are too bulky and difficult to keep organized. But I came across the GPS Handgunner Backpack online and pulled the trigger, so to speak . . ." ...

"There’s nothing like a .50 BMG caliber rifle for a bit of hoo-boy fun. ... You get to make endless size matters jokes at the gun range and a recoil wave big enough to surf. Saying that, the person pulling the fiddy’s trigger remains largely unaffected by the blast. Unless they’re doing the shooting in the Golden State, in which case the shooter’s looking at some cell time (and I ain’t talking about telephones). Californians dreamin’ of an AR-50 BMG have another option: ArmaLite’s AR-50A1 .416 Barrett. Le SIG built the SP2022 for a service lifetime of 20 years, hence the model designation. Just to keep the two’s in fashion, Les Français began replacing the older SIGs with the newer nine in 2002. To the surprise, if not embarrassment, of many, Obama has made no such attempt. The fear may not have been helpful to Obama, but it has been great for gun sales." ...

"That the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and the St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner have radically different ideas about the meaning of 'liberty' will come as no surprise. CSGV's oft-stated contention, in fact, that liberty is not violated by a 'government monopoly on force,' and is indeed violated by the lack of such a dystopian state of affairs, clearly illustrates a definition of 'liberty' that the vast majority of Americans would find alien, bizarre and horrifying."
