Three days after a deadly shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola that killed three men and injured eight people, Santa Rosa County passed a resolution declaring the county a "Second Amendment Sanctuary." The resolution, which is mostly ceremonial, outlines the Second Amendment and several court cases that reaffirmed American citizens' rights to bear arms. It also recognizes and re-affirms the Santa Rosa County militia, which was first established in 1994 when residents grew concerned about what they saw as threats to their Second Amendment rights.

Colorado Democrats are poised to make a bid for stricter gun policies during the 2020 legislative session. The move follows the passage of a so-called ‘red flag’ gun law in 2019 that allows a court to temporarily remove firearms from someone who might be at risk of harming themselves or others. The new law goes into effect on January 1.

The Bristol Virginia City Council voted unanimously Monday to oppose proposed state gun-control legislation but stopped short of approving the city as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary.” The council, in a called meeting, approved a resolution in support of the U.S. Constitution and Virginia’s Constitution. It states “we respect our citizens’ rights, whether those rights are explicitly stated in either constitution or derived from decisions of the court process” and seemingly follows a number of localities, including Washington County, that oppose the infringement of Second Amendment gun rights.

Virginia has been trending blue for a long time, as both the D.C. suburbs of “NoVa” and the state’s minority population have grown. Add in the suburb-alienating Trumpist drift of the GOP — both nationally and in the southern part of the state — and sprinkle on the judicial demise of some heavy gerrymandering, and you wind up with Democrats in control of the entire state government. Less than a year after a wave of Democratic scandals that was so humiliating it has its own Wikipedia page, in fact.

In news that will not shock gun rights supporters, the anti-gun utopia of California has provided further evidence that unjust gun control laws invite official corruption. According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, former San Diego County Sheriff’s Captain Marco Garmo was arrested on November 22 for allegedly using his position to circumvent the state’s “roster of certified handguns.” Further, another individual allegedly made “unlawful payments”to a member of the county’s “CCW processing staff”to assist in the acquisition of may-issue California Concealed Weapons Permits.

Review: Winchester 350 Legend

The development and popularity of metallic cartridges has traditionally been driven by the military. Consider the .45-70 Gov’t, .30-’06 Sprg., .308 Win. (7.62 NATO) and the .223 Rem. (5.56 NATO). This is partly because military adoption translates to dollars, but also because up until near the end of the last century, shooters mostly chose a cartridge to fill a general role. That’s changing. Today we’re seeing the proliferation of the specialized cartridge; a cartridge engineered for a specific—often narrow—military or civilian task. This desire for specialization is how we ended up with Winchester’s new 350 Legend.

Perhaps the most frustrating thing is when someone says they are trying to help, and then proceeds to make things worse. This is particularly true when it comes to advocacy in the effort to protect and/or restore our Second Amendment rights. Let’s be blunt here: While Second Amendment supporters have a lot going for us, specifically the facts, especially involving modern multi-purpose semiautomatic rifles, not to mention the legal arguments (combine Heller with the Supreme Court’s 2016 Caetano decision, and semi-auto bans should be toast in any honest court), as well as the fact that much of the agenda is punishing millions of Americans for crimes and acts of madness they did not commit, they don’t maximize this 1-2-3 punch.

The Culpeper Minutemen Flag: The History of the Banner Flown by a Militia of Patriots

The Culpeper Flag is often mistaken as a modern variation of the iconic “Don’t Tread On Me” Gadsden Flag – and rightly so. What many don’t know is that the Culpeper Flag was inspired by its Gadsden counterpart, and both have become touchstones of the Second Amendment Movement.

While remarkably similar to its Gadsden relative, the flag of the Culpeper Minutemen is arguably cooler – and significantly more obscure. While it has the same coiled rattlesnake and “Don’t Tread on Me” legend, the Culpeper Flag is white, it carries the additional motto “Liberty or Death,” and when historically correct, a banner bearing the name of the Culpeper Minutemen.

The Bloomberg presidential campaign is going to shake up the Democrat establishment. That is true no matter what happens on election day. Mayor Mike will disrupt the establishment even if he tries to work with the Democrats.

Politicians sell government power to special interests. In contrast, Bloomberg is buying political interests directly and cutting out the democrat money men in the middle, and also cutting out some of the democrat special interests.

Bloomberg is buying political power wholesale rather than at retail political rates.

That's when one of the employees shot the suspect. The employee, a 28-year-old Macomb Township man, holds a valid concealed pistol license, according to the sheriff's office.
