... "Left unsaid is whether Issa believes the role of Justice was criminally reckless and flawed, although the decision by Patrick Cunningham, Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona, to plead the Fifth Amendment shows involved officials at Justice fear their roles will be scrutinized in that light." ...

... "Gun control proponents stress the idea of harm reduction. They say the enactment of firearm regulations will reduce accidents and the criminal use of guns. But if policymakers are truly interested in harm reduction, they must consider the number of crimes that are thwarted by gun owners. Each year gun owners prevent a great deal of criminal mayhem–murders, rapes, batteries, and robberies. Tough Targets gathers dozens and dozens of examples of ordinary people using guns to stop criminal attacks. he defensive use of guns happens much more often than most people realize." ...

"Replica guns cost about $3, which is all it takes to teach your children how to use and aim a gun. Next thing you know, they get their hands on a real one and end up pointing it at someone and hurting or taking a life. It was proved when a cop's son got into the safe and used a real gun like a toy and shot himself."

"For most, Valentine’s Day is a hallmark holiday, dedicated to expressions of love and companionship between partners. One advocacy group has chosen the day as a backdrop for boycotting a renowned coffee chain and its decision to allow customers to carry sidearms."

"The National Gun Victims Action Council (NGAC), a network of 14 million members endorsed by 89 peace and religious fellowships, called on its supporters to stop buying Starbucks products starting on Feb. 14, until the open gun policy is changed." ...

"UA President Eugene Sander publicly declared his opposition to guns on campus on Thursday ... during his fourth town hall-style meeting."

"Sander began the meeting by explaining some of the proposed legislation that would allow guns on campus, saying that because the UA is an academic hub that houses scholars, athletes, professors and children, having guns on campus would be neither smart nor safe."

"'I believe in the Second Amendment and I even own a host of guns, however this does not give me the right to take it in certain locations,' he said. 'I stand by the newest right made by the Legislature that guns on campus are not permitted.'" ...

"So, as I read of the disgusting lies told by Attorney General Eric Holder in regards to the embarrassment known as 'Operation Fast and Furious' ... I all but give up on anyone in power. "Attorney General Eric Holder used his testimony before a House committee on Thursday to tout the supposed need for new gun control laws to prevent 'gun walking,' ... But he – and members of the committee – ignored existing laws that already accomplish Holder’s ostensible goals."

"'That is why we need a stronger gun trafficking law,' Holder said in response to questions about recourse against officials who signed off on the gun walking tactic. The tactic was integral to Operation Fast and Furious, which allowed the transportation of roughly 2,500 firearms into Mexico, often with not just the knowledge but the facilitation of federal law enforcement officials, where those guns were given to violent drug cartels." ...

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms.
