School is about to start. Does your local school have trained first responders? Does your state allow selected and trained school staff to go armed in order to protect your children?

I study those trends across the country. One thing I can tell you for sure is that my observations today will be inaccurate next month.

The time has come to ask some questions because it's obvious that the Democrat Party attempted to steal the election of 2016. What would have happened if they had succeeded?

Their maniacal anger, in defeat, reveals the likelihood of future troubles.

What would happen if, no when, a weak President is elected who cannot deal with fake accusations of heartlessness, and who will be eager to compromise? We can be sure that the Democrats will be waiting, in the shadows, to finally orchestrate their long-awaited opportunity to regulate the Second Amendment out of existence.

Lawmakers won’t hold a special session on the state’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law, as Republican opposition has made it impossible for Democrats to force a session.

As of Thursday night, 49 House members had voted against the proposal, blocking the possibility of reaching the three-fifths support required from both legislative chambers to hold a special session.

The Maryland General Assembly will consider legislation next year to ban access to 3D-printed guns after the federal government gave a Texas-based company the OK to distribute weapon blueprints.

Majority Leader Kathleen Dumfais, D-Montgomery County, is drafting legislation that would ban the possession of 3D-printed guns and “ghost” guns, firearms that don’t have serial numbers.

Imagine if California, to combat what the legislature considered the serious problem of manmade global warming, required all new vehicles sold by car dealers in the state to run on grass clippings, rather than fossil fuels.

Would it be fair to say that California was legitimately addressing serious environmental problems and promoting innovation?

Or would the more obvious conclusion be that California simply wanted to ban the sale of new cars?

Mr. John Mallo offered an opinion column last week expressing his views regarding the connections between the NRA, racism, the Second Amendment and more. Although he is entitled to those views, the historical record does not support his opinion. The Second Amendment was not passed to “preserve slave patrols.” It passed among the 10 amendments called the Bill of Rights, which were passed together in 1791. These amendments were authored by Virginian George Mason, an avowed abolitionist. He also refused to sign the original draft of the Constitution because it did not abolish slavery.

President Donald Trump and his opponents have loudly wrangled in recent months about whether a “deep state” is out to get the president. The term “deep state” commonly refers to the officials who secretly wield power permanently in Washington, often in federal agencies with vast sway and little accountability. According to a March poll, 74 percent of Americans believe that a deep state probably exists.

Eric Church is still feeling the heat from his recent comments to Rolling Stone regarding the Las Vegas shooting and the NRA. The singer played a headlining set at the Route 91 Harvest festival just two nights before the deadliest shooting in modern American history. Church was personally “wrecked” by the event, but many fans took offense to his controversial view on the tragedy.
