The Boonville Rod and Gun Club will be holding a turkey shoot Sept. 17, beginning at 9 a.m.

There will be a trap shoot, long distance shot (scope or open sight), hand gun 25 yard slow fire (open to all handguns) and a 22 rifle 50 yard shoot with open sights only.

Food and drinks will be available.

Boonville Rod and Gun Club 2006 yearly memberships are now on sale for $10, which includes hunting and fishing on the property, and are available at Lee Pontiac and Buick, RT 12, or at Mahaffy's Barbershop on Main St.

"Morio Billings was arrested by Chicago Police just 11 days after serving less than half of a 7-year sentence for a 2003 burglary that touched off a national firestorm over the right of self defense."
