"The shooting at Virginia Tech thoroughly cements the necessity for law-abiding citizens to own and carry firearms. Had professors and students other than the shooter been carrying weapons, they might have lowered the death toll. Ironically, in 2006, Virginia Tech quashed a bill allowing handguns on campuses."
