"An assault rifle, a money counter and weigh scales are just tools for the trade for a new gang cutting into Edmonton's drug market, say police who displayed a drug seizure Wednesday."
"The items were seized from two homes in Edmonton raided last week. Police also seized 800 grams of cocaine and $8,000 in cash. The rifle sat next to T-shirts and ball caps with the gang's name, Independent Soldier."
"'We're not sure how many we're dealing with,' said gang unit Const. Kevin Berge. The gang started in Vancouver. It's affiliated with the Hells Angels and started operating out of Calgary a year ago."
"Berge said more than 20 gangs operate in Edmonton." ... |

"[The new gang is] affiliated with the Hells Angels and started operating out of Calgary a year ago." Hmmm. Something must have indicated to them that Canada is becoming a good place to set up a felony enterprise. Endless calls by politicians for more gun control, maybe? |

Oh, missed the part about "cutting into" the Edmonton drug market. They had one already? So what's different? Oh, a rifle. Over 4 tons of drugs were destroyed in Panama the other day, seized while headed north in operations over the last few months. The money's so good, they keep trying. TONS. Laws? Ha. |

| I guess with the competition the gangs are going to start shooting each other like they do here, and stricter drug and gun laws will be demanded. Laws, for people who will shoot you and drive over your writhing body to get to a $20 bill. |

They found one! -- 45Colt~we've a new generation of these w/o concept of work/hard work, are not willing to do manual labor yet demand the stuff previous gens never had.-I've never seen a young kid mowing a lawn here (niece won't even do the dishes), yet they're breaking into houses taking anything not bolted down: drilling into bottom of gas tanks, popping lockable covers and caps off and siphoning out, so they can subsidize their cell phone bills, Xbox's, etc.. --- city.gov in action: A seattle union wastewater crew mistakenly diverted raw sewage into a stormwater drain..800,000 gal./day for 10 DAYS!

| QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
| [The American Colonies were] all democratic governments, where the power is in the hands of the people and where there is not the least difficulty or jealousy about putting arms into the hands of every man in the country. [European countries should not] be ignorant of the strength and the force of such a form of government and how strenuously and almost wonderfully people living under one have sometimes exerted themselves in defence of their rights and liberties and how fatally it has ended with many a man and many a state who have entered into quarrels, wars and contests with them. — George Mason, "Remarks on Annual Elections for the Fairfax Independent Company" in The Papers of George Mason, 1725-1792, ed Robert A. Rutland (Chapel Hill, 1970). |
