"A small group of senior White House and administration officials has quietly interviewed some of the top candidates for any Supreme Court vacancy, said Republican sources with close ties to the White House."
"The senior officials are said to include Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, who has been mentioned as a Supreme Court candidate; White House Counsel Harriet Miers, the president's longtime adviser and former personal attorney; White House Chief of Staff Andrew H. Card Jr.; and senior adviser Karl Rove." ... -------
Submitter's Note: Given the horrible, Constitution shredding decisions that have come from the SCOTUS lately, we should do our best to encourage the President to select 'strict constructionists', rather than 'living document' dolts. |

| "New justice?" Well the damage has already been done and I certainly do not see any congresscritter stepping up to demand a change to the abuse that has been created by SCOTUS. |

Repewblikan presidents have an excellent record of appointing conservative judges -- who promptly metamorphosize into liberal "living document" dolts when they take the bench!!!! Yeah, I'm holding my breath..... |

| The next president will be a lefty. When that happens, you'll really see erosion in this US of A. Say goodbye to guns, bibles, traditional marriage, and whatever they come up with. Remember, the Constitution is a living document to the left. It changes with time. Say hello to Socialism. Please, each and every one of you out there, vote these bumbs out. |

| It'd be nice to get someone with no prior legal experience- at least then we might get some common sense. |

| Oh swell. The White House is considering Gonzales....the one who supported the AWB and indicated one of his first priorities was to eliminate vulgarity. I hope this is not the White House definition of strict constructionalist. |

| "............encourage the president to select "strict constuctionists"...........????????? Yea, right. King Bush II has PROVEN a complete disregard for the rule of law, what makes you think he'd even LISTEN to us ???????? Again, there are only TWO events which will turn things around in this country: the second coming of Christ, or the 3rd American Revolution. |

| Still havent heard the President come out and say anything about this recent ruling. It would be nice to hear him condemn it. Not that it would matter, but he could help keep this thing in the public eye. Because like everything else this will fade from their memory, and I'm assuming thats what these enemies of freedom are hoping for. |

McCain-Feingold political speech Censorship Promise to sign the Assault Weapons Ban Just passed UN army enabling act
The Republicans are doing just fine with eroding our rights. Again, for the hard of learning, we have one party in this country; not two. Even if you would like to think of them as two, they are so similar, they might as well be one. |

"However, the Christian Legal Society has been asked to provide its recommendations for a replacement for [the] Chief Justice".
Spooky.... (to me at least, But I'm for strict separation)
Bush will probably promote one of his underlings. This administration likes to nominate those from its own ranks.. |

How about Norm Mineta? I mean if Bush can have a Democrat running the TSA, why not send him to the Supreme Court? Hillary might want the job too, or have Slick Willie himself join his own appointees on the court. -sarcasm off- Point is, don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Bush is real good at disappointment. |

Ron Paul for president!
I have never voted republican, nor democrat for federal office. The only way I'd ever consider voting Rep is if Ron Paul was the candidate.
The SCOTUS is gone completely off its rocker. The sad part is there are no constructionalist judges there. They are "constructionalist" only when it serves their purpose, (as the states rights medical marijuana issue proves).
The republic is dying....
Vote Lib or constitution party before its too late. |

| The Republic has long been dead. We moved into a complete police state shortly after 9/11. I argued that we were one during the 90's but no one listened and or thought that I was crazy. we have to deal with the fact that we live in a totalitarian state and adjust our lives accordingly. Most sadly will just go along to get along. That is precisely what people voting republican have been doing. In reality we have just been voting for a different puppet to sit on the same hand. the left right arguments have all been a distraction. Bottom line is that they own our lands currency and with the taxation we have they own our labor and by extension they own us. We are slaves and the sooner you admit that the sooner we will have our freedom back |

All good things must come to an end, and the justices of the supreme court are doing a nifty job of making sure our country is no exception. Good bye old girl. It's been a pleasure and we're already missing you.
No private property. No religious freedom. No freedom of speech. My God, it's like watching a loved one die very very slowly.
Oh well. We could always invoke our 2nd Ammendment rights..... that is while we still have them. |

Expect the nominee to agree with the PATRIOT Act. Expect the nominee to agree with McCain-Feingold. Expect the nominee to agree with the REAL ID Act. Expect that he nominee will rubberstamp everything the Bush administration has done so far. Expect the nominee to continue shredding the 4th Amendment in the name of the War on (some) Drugs which will naturally extend over to include guns.
Nope, I don't expect I'll be disappointed with the nominee. |
