A spokesman for Cheesecake Factory said a manager made a mistake when he asked a group of armed Washington state corrections officers to leave the restaurant because of a no guns allowed policy.

...

"Our policy is to allow uniformed and identified law enforcement officials to possess their service weapons on our premises," a company spokesperson said."

This is total Bovine Excrement! There is no reason this should have happened. This kind of political correctness is nothing more than a refusal to acknowledge the existence of both law enforcement having a personal life outside of working hours and on an even simpler level the existence of second amendment rights of American Citizens in general and law enforcement specifically.

The existence of the Second Amendment is hardly a secret and the ability of an American to keep and BEAR arms is something corporate america should stop ignoring and or work to curtail in the US today. There is no state in the US that does not have a CCW permit that can be issued and all states should be "encouraged" to become shall issue. Corporations should be "encouraged" to stop with polocies that prohibit CC and or OC. This would allow two things to happen, people would start to see guns more often and become more accustomed to seeing in around them and the current freakout over seeing someone carrying a gun would subside.

There will still people and areas that would continue to have freakouts over guns but they would hopefully be a minority of people and areas. The second is that many would see the amount of OC'ing and assumed CC'ing and choose to get some training and join them. This would further change the mindset of people and corporations about guns and the Second Amendment. Maybe I am being unrealistic but one can hope.
