After gun safety advocates flooded her mailbox and social media pages, Dear Abby tweaked some lousy parenting advice she'd offered to a cautious new mom. In late June, Abby responded to "First-time mom in New Jersey," who wondered whether she should ask other parents if they have guns at home before allowing her daughter to play there.

Dear Abby
You needn’t worry about offending any gun owners with the your question. The very reason you might be concerned is the same reason that a gun owner will not tell you they own a gun.

Baloney. "Helicopter Parent" is a derogatory term for a reason.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. — John Stuart Mills
