Obama's Proposed Ban on 'Green Tip' Bullets Misfires

The Obama administration is reconsidering its proposal to ban a popular type of rifle bullet—named for their distinctive green tips—after gun owners, lobbyists and members of Congress opposed the ban, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said on Tuesday.

At issue is whether green tips qualify as armor-piercing ammunition, and if so, whether the ATF should revoke a 30-year-old regulatory exemption for the rounds based on their popularity in shooting sports.

more word play games upon purposefully vague definitions: anyone can swage jacketed bullets with the correct dies...m855 just has an extra step of adding steel tip (nail, any sharpened round stock)...with (short) 32 gr. lead core. The recently-atf-banned combloc 5.45 (.20) round had an air gap between so...just add plastic spacer. [to reload, use a .222 case].

what armor to pierce?, all the tacticool units have hard chest plate which will stop nearly anything, even one out that'll stop .50bmg ap black tip-just divots surface 2 or 3mm.

same word play with 80% blanks...term "indexing"
