FULL TEXT BELOW:
Some T-shirts being worn by young people in Toronto are irritating Toronto cops. The shirts have a picture of a gun, with the caption, "Rule 1: Be Armed.'
The shirts aren't illegal, just in bad taste.
Sgt. Rob Hargan says kids wearing them will be "hassled.'
But 640 Toronto crime expert and host of The Beat Craig Bromell says that's about all police can do because there's nothing illegal about them.
There are suggestions that two of the shirts have been seized.

"Sgt. Rob Hargan says kids wearing them will be "hassled.'' What a twit.
The last two times I've been to canada, I had the outfit I was driving was searched. Everything that was in the truck and trailer was removed and tossed on the ground. The canadian boarder JBT's were genuine a$$h*le$. Canada is the last place I would ever travel to.

Just in bad taste? Is that a fact? It's written like it is one.
If I were not routinely armed, I might wear one to show my support for being armed. But if I did wear one, and anything were to happen where I would need my sidearm it would not look good to be wearing such a thing. I take a low profile when I am armed... all smiles and pleases and thank-yous and resisting the urge to flip the bird to maniacs on the road. The last thing I want to have to do is USE my G17!

| Let me get this straight - the police are going to hassle kids for wearing a t-shirt? Sounds like it is difficult the distinguish the children from the adults. Or maybe the police just don't have enough to do or don't want to do their real job. |

Since the left has sworn off religion, they now seem to have a significant fear of "graven images."
Spock was right, that's illogical. |

Typical response of the state approved censorship crowd.

I have enjoyed several motorcycle trips to Canada in the past few years.
I believe I can find somewhere else to ride now, though. |

Too bad the kids probably aren't armed. If they were, perhaps they would return the favor by "hassling" the cops. Eventually, the knuckleheads would learn - the cops, that is.
< Begin Rant > Am I the only one struck by the irony of certain people aggravating, cajoling, intimidating, or using force on those of us who are obviously armed? How stupid they must be...rather like repeatedly poking a finger in the ribs of a giant - eventually, after telling you to lay off, he'll finally have had enough and stomp your guts out. I, for one, am quite ready to start stomping. Yeah, I'm armed - if you wanna harass me for it, you're obviously mentally impaired. < End Rant > |

| I didn't know hassling people in Canada was legal. So I guess if I don't like the way a cop looks, then I can hassle him, right? |

Thanks gruhn@hwb.com ;^)
For the police to publically admit to harrasment with impunity speaks volumes
"the shirts aren't illegal" - was there any doubt? |

| Let me see, hassle someone because of his t-shirt. Is is indeed a pleasure to see that ignorance is alive and well in Canada. Now, what do they do if a hasseled one hands the stupid uniformed idiot his head. That badge does not make them anything proof. |
