Why Are Drivers Given More Freedom Than Gun Owners?

Even ignoring that there is no constitutional provision guaranteeing a right to own and drive a car, my response to this is: “Gun owners would mostly love that.”

As they fall back a step, I explain that I do not need to have license plates on my car on private property, nor do I need a driver’s license to operate it there. There is no background check to buy a car. I do not even need a driver’s license to buy a car. I can sell a car to anyone that wants to buy it. I do not need to go to a licensed car dealer. My driver’s license is recognized in every state and even in Canadian provinces. If I want to buy a car from a dealer in Chicago, I can fly there, buy the car and drive home.

"Given?" The lack of byzantine oppression doesn't mean government has "given" freedom.

The illegal tyranny of the DMV (actually the department of COMMERCIAL vehicles in all states, because contrary to your assumptions, the term "motor vehicle" legally means commercial vehicle) is the most universally hated BUT AMERICANS ARE KEPT IGNORANT OF ALL LEGAL ASPECTS.

The cliche attempt to compare cars to guns exposes the successes of the enemies of freedom on both fronts, but yes it's far worse for gun owners.

That class "D" commercial license that you didn't know is a commercial license, YES is a commercial license, merely without weight parameters like the class "A" "B" or "C." No you DON'T need a license merely to travel.

Attaching commercial plates (and yes they're ALL commercial plates) amounts to legally declaring even your non commercial automobile to be a commercial "motor vehicle." You didn't know that did you. By the way, scan through state statutes and even your state's department of commercial vehicle's poorly written manuals, and you WON'T find the term "automobile." There's a sinister reason for that. Your state's subtly dishonest DMV revolves around the term "motor vehicle" because if you declare your automobile to be a commercial "motor vehicle" then you're under their CONTROL. Like all things from government, it's all about control. No legal education means you lack control and can be led about by the nose.
