The liberal, comically ideological "student, grassroots" Gun Industry Watch has requested the FTC to investigate gun manufacturers' and retailers' websites. The GIW insists these businesses violate the law "any time they claim that the purchase of firearms will help protect consumers, when scientific data indicates that a gun in the home is 22 times more likely to be used in a suicide, accidental shooting, or homicide than in self-defense."

We should ask the FTC to investigate every anti-gun website for their slander, distortion, and outright lies about how guns save lives, how more guns=less crime, etc, etc. But don't expect the feds help in anything that has to do with the support of liberty and freedom. They're in the business of stealing liberties, not aiding them. |

"...when scientific data indicates that a gun in the home is 22 times more likely to be used in a suicide, accidental shooting, or homicide than in self-defense," said Alliance for Justice President Nan Aron in a letter to the FTC's Director of Consumer Protection, Howard Beales.
What happened to the 43 times BS? Lies ARE sometimes hard to keep straight aren't they? |

The gun makers' claims cannot be substantiated because of the laws against them in the first place. Had there been law abiding citizens with these weapons aboard any of the flights on Sept. 11th we might have seen quite a difference in what happened in our skies that day. Nothing like skewing the results before you actually skew the results. Victor should make liberal sized traps and place them in the shadows of our hallowed halls througout this great nation. Rats roam...

I guess it's time for our own letter writing to the FTC and let them know our position and concerns about Gun Industry Watch's false statements.
It's our turn to go on the offensive!
Let's take NO MORE SH!T FROM THESE IDIOTS! |

If only I lived in the USA, then I'd really can get to giving these idiots a piece of my mind.
unfortunately, I can't even donate to the GOA or SAF, seeing that the country I live in just loves censoring thing all sorts of things, soon enough all I'll be left with is all the Anti-gun and PC websites. |

| "Pity the poor anti-gun liberal The sole reason for their existence is to eliminate as many guns as possible from the face of the earth. They believe that human beings will renounce their evil ways and abandon violence if only guns can be banished. This naive and idealistic view of human nature was badly damaged on Sept. 11. Most Americans now understand that simply being nice and opposing all forms of violence will not protect us from violent people who do not share our beliefs." -- Dr. Michael S. Brown, Drs. for Sensible Gun Laws. |

| Has anybody written to the FTC to find out what "scientific" evidence these people have to support their "22 times more likely" theory? Seems to me that number keeps changing. I'd like to see the hard data used to come up with these figures, especially since they seem to require gun manufacturers to support their advertisements with scientific fact. FTC are you listening? |

| Unfortunately, our colleges are leftwing nurturing stations for those unable to generate independent thought. The sheeple will swallow all this BS as fact. Our tax dollars fund these mindless misguided morons. Have a nice day. |

| "The biggest flaw in this argument is that it counts only dead crinminals but ignores the thousand successful thwarting of criminals for every criminal killed; it doesn't even count criminals who are wounded but not killed. Another flaw in these data is that if a homeowner is wounded and it turns out that he owns a gun, it is assumed that his own gun injured him. It turns out that only 19% of these guns owned by homeowners led to their own injuries." Dr. John Lott. |

"...22 times more likely..."
Interesting. Studies have estimated guns are used in self-defense between 65,000 and 2 million times each year. If the "22 times" statement is true, between 1.43 and 44 million suicides, accidents, and gun homicides should occur each year. That is obviously not the case.
According to the CDC's "Firearm Injuries and Fatalities", roughly 20,000 suicides or accidental shootings occurred in 1994. Using these numbers, guns in the home are 3 to 100 times more likely to be used for self-defense than in suicide or accidents. |

Here's a quote from their website:
"The statistics on bringing a gun into the home are clear - for every time a gun is used legally in the home for self defense, there are 22 criminal, unintentional, and suicide-related shootings."
What IS clear is these people will make up statistics and/or facts to be used to further their agenda. If these lies were true, there would be several THOUSAND people dead each day due to homicidal gun owners. |

| Every time I hear the claim " owning a gun makes you less safe" I'm reminded of an online test I took a while back. It was on an official website (DOJ,FBI,or the like, I can't remeber the department but it was definitely federal). This test rated your likleyhood of being a victim of a crime. It asked various lifstyle questions then ranked your risk.I answered all questions exactly the same except for one"do you own a firearm"? When the answer was "no" my risk of being victimized was significantly higher than when I answered "yes".the facts are the facts and this was a perfect illustration. |

I noticed that they don't post an e-mail address on their web site, wonder why not? I also signed up as a "member" but they haven't sent me any of this valuable information yet. Gosh, I'm disappointed! But if they do, you can bet I'll post their e-mail address on KABA, am sure others would like to write them.
I will first ask where they got that "22 times" number from (besides between their ears). Just can't wait for a response. |

The government of the United States of America has chosen to march the path of oppression.
Making the conscious and blatant choice to ignore the Constitution and violate the 1st and 4th amendments is intolerable.
The American people need representation.
All government officials, elected or not, who violate the Constitution in this offensive against freedom should be in jail.
The Constitution is THE LAW.
OBEY THE LAW! |

| These people (sheeple?) just won't stop. We need to get the FACTS out there, that this "22 times" statistic (used to be 43 times, what happened?) is total crap, and that a gun is your best means of self-defense, if you know how to use it well. |
