Area lawmakers have objected to legislation passed earlier this month requiring gun owners to keep firearms in a locked cabinet or equipped with a trigger-locking device under certain circumstances. “Not only is today’s firearm storage legislation irresponsible, but it is also impractical and unnecessary,” said State Sen. Rob Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, in a statement. “The passage of this legislation further highlights the utter disdain New York City regressives hold against the legal gun owners of our state and illustrates their ignorance regarding Second Amendment protections.

And ILLEGAL.
“Held:
“3) …the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense and is hence unconstitutional.” - D.C. v. Heller (2008)
Dicta:
“[A] statute which, under the pretense of regulating, amounts to a destruction of the right, or which requires arms to be so borne as to render them wholly useless for the purpose of defense [is] clearly unconstitutional.” |

TO REMEMBER |
The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order. — Adolf Hitler, April 11, 1942.
