City police this year have confiscated nearly twice the number of illegal guns they took off the streets in 2006, according to Police Chief Gerald Keller. In a recent interview, Keller said police this year seized 22 handguns, all illegal and in some cases stolen, as they conducted drug investigations or responded to shooting incidents or reports of shots fired. In all of 2006, police confiscated 12 guns. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks. — Thomas Jefferson, Encyclopedia of T. Jefferson, 318, Foley, Ed., reissued 1967. |
