Putting guns in the hands of even the good folks a bad idea

"If you want a handgun of your own, you no longer have to explain to a county gun board why you need one. ... Lawmakers expressly included a school grounds provision, so parents don't have to disarm themselves before dropping off their kids or picking them up. Considerate, huh? The Legislature's wacky idea of a Christmas present -- more handguns for more people -- goes into effect today." -By Laura Berman of The Detroit News

An article by a another shivering, bed-wetting liberal.

She obviously just doesn't get it.

Even if the majority of the voter population feels strongly on an issue, rights cannot be voted down or out of existence.

In my opinion, "Just because" is good enough.

Be sure to e-mail Mz. Berman and tell her your opinion of her and her article.
I'm sure it will make her happy, because that what's most important, liberals
like her being "happy".

Laura, Laura...Laura. Red-Diaper-Doper-Baby, to be sure. While your trying to control your incontinence, think back to those times of old. When the founding fathers meant exactly that ".....a pistol in every pocket/purse" was freedom! All as a matter of choice, you like choices, right? Wasn't mandatory and the ones who chose to carry did so with great conscience and presence of mind regarding their responsibility. Just because, is the right 'cause!

A local radio station recently broadcast a report detailing locations that are "the armpit of America". Detroit was right up there.

With people like Berman in it, one can see why.

Well I did my part, I sent her quite a lengthy response. If by chance she does respond I will make it available for all "true americans" to read......:)

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of constitutional privilege. [Wilson v. State, 33 Ark. 557, at 560, 34 Am. Rep. 52, at 54 (1878)]
