Earlier this month, an off-duty Chicago police officer ended the criminal career of a mugger, who made a poor choice of victims. Had this officer been an ordinary citizen of the state, the tables could have been turned and the citizen dead instead of the mugger.
Opponents of concealed carry claim that this would lead to "OK Corral" style shootouts in the streets. Obviously this is not the case, as we would surely have heard of such events in the other 48 states which permit concealed carry. |

| Maybe we need a few OK Corral shootouts. Politicians might get the message that we, the mere citizens, are tired of the victim status, and the criminals will seek another line of work. |

| Read quite a number of comments on the site page. While more seemed more pro-gun than anti, it essentially developed into strings of petty, ego-building type twaddle, ultimately not worth the paper needed to print them. Why doesn't that surprise me, coming from Illinois? Maybe its in the water, or something. Like it makes everbody a bit -- or a lot -- stupid. |
