"Not even soldiers on an American military base such as Fort Hood are immune from the unique threat from powerful and increasingly lethal handguns. Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan is a psychiatrist who treated returning vets suffering from PTSD and other issues of mental illness."
"He was scheduled to deploy to Iraq within weeks. Unconfirmed news outlets initially reported that Hasan used two privately-owned handguns, a semiautomatic handgun and a .357 revolver to murder 13 people (12 soldiers and 1 civilian) and wound 28 others before being wounded by a policewoman responding to the scene." ... |

| Not even soldiers are safe in gun free zones would be a more accurate headline. Any single gun grabbing politician has more guns and goons surrounding them than you would find protecting disarmed soldiers at Fort Hood. |

One never is completely safe from all dangers, but the soldiers at Ft Hood, just like most citizens, were restrained in their ability to defend themselves... and because of that, more died.
Think for a moment, hundreds of soldiers, well-trained in armed response would have, if armed themselves, taken this guy out in moments, and many lives would have most likely been saved.
This is the legacy of restrictive gun control. |
