"The easy accessibility of knives on the street makes them deadly when emotions run high, London police said following a rash of weekend knifings. 'Walking downtown with a pocket knife or some other type of knife . . . is not necessarily a criminal offence,' London police Chief Murray Faulkner said yesterday."
"'But when emotions erupt, people know they have this weapon in their pocket and they're quick to use it.'"
"Latest police statistics show weapons offences, which aren't broken down by type, are on the rise, up 13 per cent last year over 2003."
"That may be because society is more violent, Faulkner said."
"'If you grow up bombarded by violence, it will have an impact,' he said, referring to TV, movies and video games." ... |

Anyone with a whit of common sense can plainly see where this is leading. The environmentalists have been right all along. Why, anyone with a vengeful mind can simply walk up and sneeze on you, unleashing who knows what deadly germs in this day and age. No, the only practical solution is the obvious one: immediately ban all humans so that this type of unnecessary tragedy can never occur! Molon Labe! |

| If you know your intended victim is unarmed you are quick to produce your weapon. |

"people know they have this weapon in their pocket and they're quick to use it.'"
That's how it's supposed to be done. "Gee, I wonder if I brought along a defensive arm today?" "Gee, he's smacking me in the head with a brick. But I'm not on the ground yet. Maybe he's just playing. I'll keep the old tools of defence in my pocket (Gosh, I hope I brought one today, just in case) until I'm sure." |

| Look, the actual professionals, the college professors doing research in psychology and sociology haven't the foggiest clue what they are talking about. So I'm supposed to pay attention to the guesswork of some police chief about the nature of society? |
