Apathy...

A lying prosecutor, a land grab with a more rotten odor than a gut wagon on a hot day, the usual slanted media coverage and a widow in jail with more integrity and guts than any of her adversaries. Let's rally and show support, you'd think it'd matter.
I left right after I heard about it, drove all night and about 400 miles, parked on the corner behind the courthouse at 4:30 in the morning so's not to miss anything and took a nap for a couple hours.
Two cops on the corner when I woke up, more walking around out of uniform and about half dozen in front of the courthouse holding the railings down so they wouldn't go anywhere. Needless, but I think a very good example of why we're where we are today and why we're going to continue losing freedoms.
Maybe 50-60 folks in all, peacefully lined up on the curbs of both sides of the street in front of the Bonner County Courthouse with signs for the passing traffic. The response of that passing traffic was, IMHO, a clear example of apathy with only a small number honking, waving or showing any sign of support. The majority seemed to want to look the other way, a few dirty looks, but clearly with no idea of what we were about.
They just don't care; it can't happen to them; she must deserve it 'cause the government says so; they swallow the swill of the idiot box and look no further; no different than all the reasons for Second Amendment infringements that've cost us.
Some system, eh?
