No More Duck Hunters!!
by Alan L. Lundy
http://www.SafestCrime.com

I have a real problem with Charleton Heston and Wayne LaPierre!

No! I have a real problem with the NRA board of directors. No! I have a problem with Bill Clinton. Before you hit that back button, hear me out.

The truth is I have a problem with all of the above. I want to know how many of them are duck hunters and target shooters.

I am tired of Bill Clinton and other liberal pukes giving quick media inviting sound bites about how they're not going to infringe on the rights of duck hunters and other sporting activities involving firearms. First of all, the Constitution does not give any written right to shoot ducks, deer, elk, rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs, bears or even turkeys. So where does Mr. Clinton keep his mythical copy of this hidden right? Is it in the same file cabinet next to the mysterious Foster and Brown coroner reports?

I'm also tired of Bill Clinton (he seems tame next to some of the more rabid types like Schumer and Feinstein) and those same liberal pukes claiming that they are not trying to take away the right of sport and competition shooting. I can't find any written right that allows for the poking of holes in little pieces of paper with bullseyes painted on them. Mr. Clinton must keep that copy of "poking holes in paper with 22 rifles shall not be infringed" somewhere deep in the archives of his soon-to-be Arkansas library.

I make this rant for several reasons. I don't want my right to keep and bear arms to be based on the fact that I hunt or don't hunt or that I am a member or not, of a particular weekend government approved target shooting club. I believe that the right exists today for the same reasons the Founders penned it. "The right to military styled weapons that allow the ordinary citizen to protect their homes from invasion from enemies, both foreign and domestic". Or if your community sees fit, "to organize and become part of a local militia that would guarantee protection from assault from an enemy, both foreign and domestic". Regardless of what you may hear on CNN and other "Big Media" outlets, domestic assault is the most threatening to our freedom.

I say no more duck hunters for a very simple reason and I will make the comparison to our Supreme Court. Supreme Court Justices are supposed to be appointed to the bench based on their understanding of the plain English that the Constitution is written in and agree to judge court cases brought before the United States based on that language. Problem: THEY DON'T! They legislate, they interpret (reinvent based on their own political ideologies) and in the end they insult us all by insinuating that they (nine citizens) have an intellectual advantage over us and can legislate without our consent. Remember they are NOT elected by the people and therefore feel they are not accountable.

The same goes for the NRA Leadership and Board of Directors. It seems as though we are being forced to follow the lead of "duck hunters" down the slippery slope to disarmament. With the boastful number of 3.5 million members (of which I am presently one) they are supposed to wield a mighty sword in DC amongst the right to KABA's leaning politicos, but it seems they have embraced the Clinton interpretation of the Second Amendment to be the "rights of duck hunting and target shooting". Example; They have refused to advertise Dr. Ignatius Piazza's organization Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in any of their publications and mailings simply because his (FREE to NRA members) offer involves Submachine gun training. Hence my problem with the duck hunting interpretation. Dr. Piazza was informed by the NRA that his advocating of submachine gun training was something they did not want any part of during an election year. Hell, this is one that their teeth should be sunk into. Is the problem really an election year or do they just no longer believe in the good Dr.'s cause?

Where is the NRA and their millions when Bob Stewart is fighting for his and basically all of our Second Amendment rights?

The NRA leadership is begging for more support and more money while ignoring their purpose and the rights of all of us with support of programs like Project Exile which will in all probability make all non-sporting gun ownership illegal sometime in the near future. It's not a game of attrition, Chuck. Our rights are not a multi-bargaining chip that a few individuals have the right to play with.

Why wasn't Charleton Heston holding an M-16 over his head when he made his "from my cold dead hands" speech? No one is trying to take away his historic replicas that I know of. And how much use would a two hundred year old antique be in stopping today's enemies, both foreign and domestic? A good club, I guess.

They have also reveled in the fact that the liberals portray them as some radical right-wing organization with a dangerously twisted view of the Second Amendment. Where does that leave the rest of us who feel the NRA has taken the "Harvey Milquetoast" approach? Are we going to allow the media to portray us as some hyper-nut cases who have no place in today's society? We are just citizens who may not shoot at flying fowl or spend every weekend on the rifle/pistol range, although the latter is highly recommended! Could it be that the NRA has become just a multi-million dollar lobby for the interests of sportsmen only?

Now, I don't want you duck hunters mad at me ( I know you guys are some great shots!) and I have the greatest respect for you and your right to keep and bear arms. I would just sleep a little better at night knowing that if our government is intent on disarming us (and they are) and that means we must organize a coalition to fight the usurpations of tyrants, that my right to keep and bear arms coalition will not begin to really fight only after the assault on a specified group (such as sportsmen) is targeted. Remember, we are all in this together and there is no right to shoot ducks from the sky, only the right to keep and bear arms and that right allows for the sporting use of firearms!

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time, no one was left to speak up." -- Rev. Dr. Martin Niemoeller, July 1, 1937; arrested by the Third Reich.

"In America, they came first for my neighbors M-16, and I didn't speak up because I didn't own an M-16. Then they came for my neighbors semi-automatic rifle, and I didn't speak up because I didn't own a semi-automatic rifle. Then they came for my neighbors 'cheap' handgun, and I didn't speak up because I was wealthier than he and didn't own a "cheap" handgun. Then they came for my shotgun, and I looked to my neighbor, his hands outstretched and empty, I then realized there was no one left to speak up." -- A. Lundy, July 9, 2000; a request to the thousands of sportsmen who feel the NRA speaks for them. How about a little help for the rest of us!
