Today's 5
Minute Activism Call doctor's offices out of the phone book until you get one that recommends
getting rid of guns. Ask them if they recommend the removal of guns from homes.
Be very polite, and show your interest in their answer.
If they say "no", ask them "why not?" See if they
are with us on this issue, and if they are, thank them for being smart American
doctors who put the truth above political correctness.
If they say "yes", ask if they have malpractice insurance. If they
do, ask who insures them, and ask for the number in order to verify their
insuredness.
Next call is to their insurance company, warning them that Dr. X is
practicing outside his/her area of expertise, telling people to disarm when the
facts prove that many more crimes are thwarted by guns than are saved by them,
and ask them if they are prepared to pay damages if a Doctor is sued for
negligence when someone they told to "get rid of their guns gets hurt or
killed in a home invasion.
If enough of us do this, the doctors will back up.
