Be Heard
Press Release
from Gary Gorski, attorney for Silveira Plaintiffs
August 23, 2003
[filed here late due to site being down]
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has stayed the case of
Nordyke v. King (Petition for Rehearing En Banc) pending the Supreme Court's resolution of
Silveira v. Lockyer. This indicates that the Judges within the Ninth Circuit are convinced that the Supreme Court will resolve the issue on the interpretation of the Second Amendment once and for all. The following is the minute order from the Ninth Circuit:
8/21/03 Filed order (Arthur L. ALARCON, Diarmuid F.
O'SCANNLAIN, Ronald M. GOULD) issuance of the mandate in this case is STAYED pending the Supreme Court's resolution of Silveira v. Lockyer, Docket #03-51 (petition for writ of certiorari filed 7/3/03). [99-17551]
