Subject: Kmart Utah Lawsuit, Removing Guns and Ammo from Shelves
Dear Kmart Representatives,
We are all mourning the unthinkable tragedy that
has occurred in America.
I'm sure that Kmart had the best intentions of
safety when they pulled all the guns and ammo off the shelves the day of the
tragedy in an effort to stop further violence.
We all wish the solution was that simple. But
it's going to take a lot more than that to stop violence. Because criminals
don't obey laws and they love it when favorite places to shop like Kmart pull
guns and ammo off the shelves--only making it harder for law-abiding citizens
to get guns. Criminals don't obey the laws, so they'll get guns no matter what.
Here in Utah, Kmart is being sued for selling
a gun to suicidal person. Kmart has the full support of the gun lobby--citizens
and organizations who support and work hard to protect the 2nd Amendment--in
placing the responsibility on the individual. As unfortunate as this suicide
tragedy is, we are grateful to Kmart for spending the necessary amounts of money
to hopefully win this case so as not to set a precedent for anyone to sue any
person or business should some unfortunate tragedy occur as a result of any
product being sold from their place of business.
In my opinion, when Kmart pulled guns and ammo
off the shelves, this hurt Kmart's case. If Kmart should not be held liable
for a misuse of a gun, why are you pulling guns and ammo off the shelves? By
you're actions, you're admitting that anyone can just walk in and get a gun--even
a terrorist--even after the terrorist shows I.D. By the way, since when did
terrorists start obeying laws?
I wish we could all work together to find a solution
to stop this senseless violence. It's becoming harder and harder to believe
that the future looks bright. If you'd like to contact any of the members of
Women Against Gun Control to get together and talk about the root causes of
crime and how guns save 2.5 million lives a year, please contact us at: www.wagc.com
