An armed robbery attempt at a Salt Lake City
pawn shop was foiled Tuesday afternoon when employees at the store returned
gunfire, forcing the intruders to flee, police reported.
The shootout happened around 11:15 a.m., when
two men entered Pickle's Pawn at 1514 S. State St., according to Salt Lake City
police Sgt. Fred Louis.

to determine the identities and whereabouts of the suspects, who are believed to
be in their twenties.
