by Sarah Duran; The News Tribune
Originally ran here on April 27, 2001

TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- Tacoma police are investigating a shooting Thursday evening in which a woman fatally shot a man who broke into her home.

The woman knew the man, who was a former friend, Tacoma police said.

The woman, in her late 40s, shot the man with a handgun after he broke into her home in the 7000 block of Portland Avenue East and began assaulting her, police said. He was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center where he died about 11:40 p.m.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office has not released the intruder's name.

KABA NOTE:  The report says she knew him -- a fact anti-rights people use to somehow "prove" that guns are bad. Using that "logic," we should all be victimizable by people we know.
