Police investigating bizarre shooting incident in north Portland
May 10, 2001
KATU-TV, PORTLAND, Oregon - Police are
investigating whether a homeowner shot an individual in north Portland last
night.
Shots were reportedly fired in the 8000 block
of north Wabash at around 10:30 p.m. Officers found an 18-year-old male shooting
victim in the 3500 block of north Halleck. Halleck is adjacent to where the
shots were reported.
Police saw another individual getting into a
van, and chased the vehicle to the 10000 block of north Rivergate; two miles
west of where the incident started.
Officers found the driver of the van, a
27-year-old male who had several gun shot wounds. The two shooting victims were
taken to Legacy Emanuel hospital.
The victims' gunshot wounds are not
life-threatening. The homeowner reportedly did not get shot.
