TRAIL CREEK, Indiana — A Trail Creek man was
reported uninjured Wednesday after he apparently fended off the burglary of his
home by possibly shooting one of three alleged burglars.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at
140 Harding Ave. in Trail Creek.
Trail Creek Chief Marshal Skip Pierce said the
investigation was on-going and he was releasing few details until later today
about the situation.
Pierce confirmed that three people were taken
into custody — an adult and two juveniles. One of the three was wounded during
the incident, he said.
Pierce said the injury was not
life-threatening, but the person was taken to a hospital.
Other police sources said the homeowner, Mark
Neitzel, was at his home when the three alleged burglars entered the property.
One of the alleged burglars was shot in the
leg, possibly by Neitzel, police said.
