Subject: Please delete section 1062, compromise is NOT acceptable.
Dear Senator Allard:
At a time when our nation is turning to its armed services to meet a pending
crisis, section 1062 of S. 1438, the "demilitarization" section, is
a slap in the face of all veterans.
It would allow the government to seize firearms from veterans by paying them
the purchase price.
Please use your position as a member of the Armed Services Committee to make
sure this provision is deleted from the DOD bill entirely. No compromises allowing
the seizures of private firearms are acceptable. A vote for this bill -- if
it contains this provision -- is a vote AGAINST the veterans and gun owners
of this country. Again, please do not support S. 1438 as long as it contains
the "demilitarization" language.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
D. A. Kensler
