Hello,
I'm writing in response to Mr. McLaughlin's article: http://www.nj.com/columns/mclaughlin/index.ssf?/columns/mclaughlin/1535cd0.html
First, I'd like to commend Mr. McLaughlin
for his wonderfully childish commentary. It's based with nothing but personal
bias and sarcasm towards the folks over at the NRA. By the way, I am a member
in good standing and I find it insulting to be described as a homicidal maniac
that shoots children. I've been a responsible firearms owner for 3 years now
and not once has my pistol taken over my mind and caused me to shoot someone
in cold blood. Go figure.
Now while I am put off by the ridiculous
bans in NJ, I am not deterred. I moved out of NJ over 2 years ago and it was
the best move I ever made.
Now let me show you something funny.
Your comment "...only purpose is to make it easier for homicidal maniacs
to shoot children and other people in clumps. Good, get-the-blood-up stuff."
So by that logic, Senator Charles Schumer is a homicidal maniac? http://www.keepandbeararms.com/newsarchives/XcNewsPlus.asp?cmd=view&articleid=1161
See? They are fun to shoot. While
I disagree with most if not all of Mr. Schumer's politics (he believes elitists
such as himself should have firearms while the honest citizen is not worthy),
this picture proves a point. It's not the gun that makes you homicidal, it's
the person. Unless you believe that Mr. Schumer is actually shooting someone
here with a smile on his face and then his bodyguards just dumped the body somewhere....
While all the sheeple get in line
and let government take over our lives, persons like myself, the NRA, KeepAndBearArms.com,
The Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, etc... and so on are
working to keep our rights out of the hands of the government. Since persons
like yourself are so eager to hand them over, I have to work harder. When the
government comes over and takes away your 1st Amendment rights, don't come crying
to me. I did everything I could. The problem is that we are talking about the
Bill of Rights. In there are lots of things, including the right to free speech
and the right to keep and bear arms. I'm working to keep all of those in tact
while you seem fit to exercise your 1st Amendment to attack my 2nd Amendment.
Once one right is dissolved, the others will fall.
Please take your anti-self-defense
agenda and revisit it. Firearms save many more lives than you could possibly
imagine every day. Don't believe me? Well since the media is generally anti-self-defense,
it's hard to find stories relating to the good guys winning, but OpSD is working
on weeding out the good guys: https://www.keepandbeararms.com/opsd/default.asp
Check out the good things that good people are doing with the 'evil' guns as
you so think they are.
Regards,
Ken Ross
