Irresponsible Drivel

Subject: with guns on every street...

Re: http://www.islandpacket.com/editorial/story/1036447p-1084396c.html

To the editor,

Your Jan 23rd column "With Guns on Every Street..." is one of the most irresponsible pieces of drivel I have been exposed to in a long time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about such things as guns, self defense, etc., but the person who (anonymously!) wrote this article made no attempt to separate law abiding citizens with guns from the criminals who use them in crimes. As a matter of fact, the author went out of his/her way to put criminals and law abiding citizens together into one indistinguishable lump, and then blame the lump for violent crime. That's not only irresponsible, it's intellectually dishonest. Shame on Island Packet for publishing such trash.

Sincerely,

Chris Brose
