Special Exemptions for Cops?

Public Servants Seek Immunity from Gun Laws they Enforce;
Gun Rights Leaders Say No Thanks!

April 19, 2002

As this report entails an entire website dedicated to exposing the nonsense of giving law enforcement officers national concealed carry special exemptions while concealed carry prohibitions continue to be enforced against the people, this file is simply here as a marker so people can find the site in our search engine and in my archives.

The actual report is found here:  http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/CopsOnlyCCW/

Contained in that report is the following table of contents:

• Introduction
• H.R. 218 & Its History
• Law Enforcement Supporters
• Gun Rights Leaders' Positions
• Objections to Such Legislation
• How the Bill is Being Promoted
• Conclusion
• Take Action
• Acknowledgements

While numerous police organizations push for special, illegal exemptions from concealed carry laws for their members, plenty of them are not gun owners' friends. You'll also see a rather large coalition of gun rights groups and leaders who flatly oppose such nonsense -- and much more, some of it quite ugly.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms is for THE PEOPLE. Anyone who has a problem with that has a problem with me.
